This week in PR Pubs was used to further our understanding of Adobe Premiere Pro. When coming into class from last week, I had a rough foundation of how to use Adobe Premiere Pro. I had learned the basics but I was still unsure of some of the elements Premiere Pro offered. I was just feeling overwhelmed which comes with any new program I've learned this semester. On Tuesday, Croom went over in more detail how this program worked and the importance of being able to pick a key concept/idea from what a person says in an interview for our upcoming project. What I like about his lecture was his emphasis on making sure we understood the program and had a strong foundation before jumping into a project. After Croom had finished lecturing, we were able to watch more Lynda videos and see how everything worked again. I think being able to look at the videos and not following along with the program helped me tremendously grasp the basics of Premiere Pro. I was able to see the person behind the videos thought process and how organization is key to being able to work this program efficiently. This helped clear up some of my concerns on how to effectively choose a clip without having to go through and watching each one. On Thursday we continued watching Lynda videos and this time I applied my knowledge and followed along with Premiere Pro open. Doing this went much smoother than the week before because I felt more confident with my knowledge of the program. I look forward to working on our next project, an interview with a fellow classmate and putting the skills and knowledge of what I've learned in the past two weeks to the test.
